Driving tests do not have separate exam guides, because each state publishes its own rules. The DMV practice test hub explains how the written test works and links to practice tests for ten states plus road signs, each using the state’s published pass mark.
IELTS and Other Online Exam English Tests
International students and professionals usually take one of four English exams, and the right one depends on which test the university, employer or immigration authority accepts. Compare them on the English proficiency test hub, then read the guide for your exam:
- IELTS: Academic and General Training versions, scored in bands from 0 to 9.
- TOEFL: the ETS test for university admission, reported on a 1–6 band scale since January 2026.
- PTE exam: Pearson’s computer-based test, scored 10–90.
- Duolingo English Test: an adaptive online test taken at home in about an hour.
ACT Exam Prep and College Admissions Tests
ACT exam prep, SAT prep and graduate admissions tests are grouped on the ACT and SAT practice test hub. The SAT test guide covers the digital SAT, and the ACT test guide explains the enhanced ACT with its optional Science and Writing sections.
An ACT exam prep book is still useful for reading, but online practice adds instant scoring and new questions on every attempt. Most students take both a timed practice test and a section review before choosing which exam to submit.
GRE Exam Prep Course Alternatives
A GRE exam prep course is not the only route to a strong score. The GRE test guide and the GMAT test guide explain each exam’s format, fees and score scales, so you can build a free plan around official practice material and our timed tests.
Practice Test to Become a US Citizen
The practice test to become a US citizen covers the civics questions asked during the naturalization interview. The citizenship test guide explains the civics test, the English reading and writing test and the N-400 fee, all from USCIS.
IT Certification Exam Prep: Is CCNA an Online Exam
Yes, the CCNA is a computer-based exam that Cisco delivers through Pearson VUE at a test center or with online proctoring. The IT certifications hub compares the most common entry-level certifications, and each guide covers exam codes, domains and pass marks:
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- AWS Cloud Practitioner
- AZ-900
- Cisco CCNA
- Google IT Support certificate
NCLEX Exam Prep and Healthcare Exams
NCLEX exam prep and four other healthcare exams are on the healthcare exams hub. The NCLEX RN and NCLEX PN guides explain the computerized adaptive format and the Next Generation NCLEX clinical judgment items, and the phlebotomy exam guide covers the NHA CPT certification.
CNA Exam Prep
CNA exam prep means preparing for two parts: a written or oral knowledge test and a hands-on skills evaluation. The CNA exam guide explains both, and why passing standards and fees vary by state.
EMT Exam Prep
EMT exam prep focuses on the NREMT cognitive exam, a computer-adaptive test, plus a psychomotor skills exam. The EMT exam guide covers both parts and the testing options.
CDL Exam Prep and Licensing Exams
CDL exam prep and other professional licenses are on the licensing exam hub. The CDL test guide explains the knowledge tests for the commercial learner’s permit, which require at least 80% on each test nationwide.
The same hub covers food safety and workplace safety. Read the food handlers test guide for front-line food workers, the ServSafe guide for the Food Protection Manager exam, and the OSHA practice test guide for the OSHA 10 and 30 outreach training.
Real Estate Exam Prep Test
A real estate exam prep test should cover both the national principles and your state’s laws, because most states test them as separate portions. The real estate exam guide explains exam prep for a real estate license, from prelicensing hours to the two-part exam, and links to five state practice exams.
Free real estate exam prep works well alongside your required prelicensing course. A real estate license exam prep course teaches the material, while a real estate licensing exam prep test shows whether you can apply it under time pressure.
ASVAB Online Test Prep and Aptitude Tests
ASVAB online test prep starts with the subtests that make up the AFQT, the score that decides enlistment eligibility. The ASVAB test guide explains the computer-adaptive format and each branch’s minimum, and the aptitude test hub adds mechanical, numerical, IQ and typing tests.
SIE Exam Prep and Finance Exams
SIE exam prep is the usual first step into the securities industry, since the SIE needs no firm sponsorship and is open to candidates 18 or older. The SIE exam guide covers the format and pass mark, and the finance certifications hub links every finance exam.
Series 7 Exam Prep Questions
Series 7 exam prep questions follow the four job functions in FINRA’s content outline. The Series 7 exam guide explains the format, the 72 passing score and the SIE corequisite, which matters when you compare Series 7 exam prep courses.
CPA Exam Prep Questions
CPA exam prep questions should match the Core and Discipline structure introduced in 2024. The CPA exam guide covers the four sections, the 75 passing score and the credit window, and the CFA Level 1 guide covers the investment analysis route.
GED Exam Prep and Education Exams
GED exam prep, HiSET prep and two exams for future nurses and teachers are on the high school equivalency test hub. The GED test guide explains the four subject tests and the 145 passing score, and the HiSET exam guide covers the five-subtest alternative used in some states. GED exam prep classes help many adults, and free practice tests make a good companion to them.
TEAS Exam Prep
TEAS exam prep matters because each nursing program sets its own required score. The TEAS test guide explains the four sections of ATI TEAS Version 7 and how to check your program’s requirement, which helps whether you study alone or in TEAS exam prep classes.
Praxis Core Exam Prep
Praxis Core exam prep covers Reading, Writing and Mathematics subtests that many teacher preparation programs and states use. The Praxis Core guide explains the subtests, fees and why passing scores are set by each state rather than by ETS. The same approach works for broader Praxis exam prep.
How to Use Our Exam Prep Resources
Our exam prep resources work best in a simple sequence: understand the exam, measure yourself, then practice the weak spots. Exam prep online is most effective when every session has a clear goal.
- Read the exam guide to learn the official format, scoring, fees and pass mark.
- Take a timed practice test to find your baseline and weakest sections.
- Study those sections, then take a fresh practice test with new random questions.
- Set your exam date in the exam countdown and spread the work with the study planner for exams.
Exam Prep App or Browser
You do not need an exam prep app. Every guide, practice test and tool runs in a mobile or desktop browser, saves an unfinished test on your device and keeps your last ten results, so it behaves like an app without an install or account.
Exam Prep Guide for Each Exam
Each exam prep guide follows the same structure: what the exam is, its format by section, scoring, registration and fees, how to prepare and a test day checklist. Every fact shows its official source and the date we last checked it, and when an exam body publishes nothing, the guide says so.
Free Exam Prep vs an Exam Prep Course
Free exam prep covers most of what you need for well-documented exams: the official outline, practice questions and a study plan. A paid exam prep course adds structured lessons, deadlines and sometimes a tutor, which helps if you struggle to study alone or need to learn the content from scratch.
| Free exam prep | Exam prep course | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Usually paid |
| Practice tests | Unlimited random sets | Fixed number of tests |
| Teaching | Explanations per question | Lessons and instructors |
| Schedule | Self-paced | Often fixed deadlines |
Exam prep near me searches often lead to classroom courses, while exam prep with AI tools can generate summaries and questions. Either way, check that practice questions follow the official outline and that you take timed tests before exam day.
Exam Like Practice Test Questions
Exam-like practice test questions use the same topics, question types and pace as the real exam. Ours are original, written in the style of each exam and organized by the sections of the official outline, and each one includes an explanation. Our free practice tests directory lists them all, and study tips for exams explains how to use them well. We do not cover AP exam prep yet.
Exam Prep FAQ
What Is Exam Prep?
Exam prep is the structured work you do to get ready for a specific test: learning the format and scoring, studying the tested content, practicing with exam-like questions and planning your time. Good exam prep is targeted, so you spend most of your hours on the sections where a practice test shows you lose points.
How Much Is Test Prep?
Test prep ranges from free to several hundred or even thousands of dollars for live courses and private tutoring. Everything on this site, including exam guides, practice tests and study tools, is free. Budget separately for the official exam fee, which each exam guide lists with its source when the exam body publishes it.
Which Test Preparation Technique Is Recommended?
Practice testing and spaced practice are the two techniques with the strongest research support. Answer questions from memory instead of rereading notes, spread study sessions over several weeks and mix topics within a session. Review every explanation after a practice test so each mistake turns into a rule you remember.
What Should I Prepare for an Entrance Exam?
Prepare three things for an entrance exam: the content, the format and the logistics. Learn the tested topics from the official outline, take timed practice tests to build pacing, and confirm the registration deadline, ID rules and what you may bring on test day. Each exam guide covers all three.
Is Exam Prep Legit?
Exam prep is legitimate when it is honest about its sources and claims. Be wary of anyone promising a guaranteed score or selling “real exam questions,” which breaks most exam bodies’ rules. Our questions are original, our facts come from official exam bodies and our editorial policy explains how we check them.
