Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information online-exams.com collects, how practice progress is stored on your own device, how advertising and cookies work on the site and what choices you have. We collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, and practice results stay in your browser unless you clear them.
Information We Collect
We do not require an account and we do not ask for your name to use the practice tests or tools. When you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, and we use them only to reply. Contact messages are kept for up to 180 days.
Like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our hosting provider runs. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across websites. We use it only to see which pages are visited and how fast they load.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages and tests are opened and how people arrive. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you view. You can block it with your browser’s cookie settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Data Stored on Your Device
Practice test progress, your last ten results per test, flashcard progress, saved flashcard decks, study plans and your light or dark theme choice are saved in your browser’s local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Advertising and Cookies
The site is supported by advertising. When advertising is enabled, ads are served by a third-party advertising partner, which may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure them and limit how often you see the same ad.
Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)
The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.
First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. The “help” feature of the menu bar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to receive notification of new cookies, how to disable existing cookies and how to clear your browser’s cache. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.
Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.
The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads: IP Address, Operating System type, Operating System version, Device Type, Language of the website, Web browser type, Email (in a hashed form).
Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.
If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices to opt-in or opt-out of this data collection, please visit the National Advertising Initiative opt out page. You may also visit the Digital Advertising Alliance website and the Network Advertising Initiative website to learn more information about interest-based advertising. You may download the AppChoices app at the Digital Advertising Alliance’s AppChoices app to opt out in connection with mobile apps, or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.
For specific information about Mediavine Partners, the data each collects and their data collection and privacy policies, please visit Mediavine Partners.
Your Ad Choices
When advertising is active, a consent banner provided by our advertising partner lets visitors in regions that require it accept or reject personalized advertising, and the “Privacy & Ad Choices” link in the footer of every page brings you back to this section. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and through your browser’s cookie settings.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. When advertising is active, the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer opens our advertising partner’s opt-out controls. You can also send an opt-out request through our contact form with the topic “Privacy request”. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are treated as having opted out where the law requires it.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent. Because we do not keep accounts, the only personal information we usually hold is the content of contact messages. To make a request, use the contact form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children’s Privacy
The site is intended for a general audience preparing for exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS with modern security headers. Contact messages are stored in encrypted storage provided by our hosting platform and deleted after 180 days.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
