How Our Free AZ-900 Practice Test Works
Our free AZ-900 practice test draws questions at random from an original bank written in the style of the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals exam. Each question belongs to one of the three official skill areas, so every attempt is a new mix of cloud concepts, Azure services and governance.
Choose a mode before you start. Timed mode gives you 30 minutes for 30 questions, a pace that builds the speed you need for the real 45-minute exam. Untimed mode removes the clock, and study mode reveals the answer and explanation after each question. You can flag questions, move around with the navigator and answer with the number keys.
When you finish, you see your score, percentage, time used and a breakdown by skill area. The review lists every question with your answer, the correct answer, an explanation and a “why” note.
Take the AZ-900 Practice Test Online
You can take the AZ-900 practice test online for free, with no account and no download. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. If you close the tab partway through, your progress is saved on your device so you can resume after a reload, and your last 10 results are stored so you can watch your scores improve.
AZ-900 Practice Test Questions and Answers
Every item in our bank comes with the correct answer and a clear explanation. Most are single-answer questions; a few are multiple selection and tell you how many options to pick. These AZ-900 practice test questions and answers are original, written from Microsoft’s published skills outline, not copied from the real exam.
What the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 Exam Covers
The Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 exam covers three skill areas, as listed in Microsoft’s study guide updated July 20, 2026. You have 45 minutes of exam time and need a scaled 700 out of 1,000 to pass. For registration, fees and test-day rules, read our full AZ-900 guide.
| Skill area | Weight |
|---|---|
| Describe cloud concepts | 25–30% |
| Describe Azure architecture and services | 35–40% |
| Describe Azure management and governance | 30–35% |
Azure Cloud Concepts
The cloud concepts area covers cloud computing, the shared responsibility model, public, private and hybrid cloud models, the benefits of the cloud and the IaaS, PaaS and SaaS service types. A typical question asks in which service model the customer patches the virtual machine operating system. The answer is IaaS, because in PaaS and SaaS the provider manages the operating system.
Azure Architecture, Services and Governance
The architecture and services area covers regions, availability zones, resource groups and subscriptions, plus compute, networking, storage, and identity, access and security. Expect to choose between options such as virtual machines, App Service and Azure Functions, or between storage tiers.
The management and governance area covers cost management, governance and compliance tools such as Azure Policy, resource locks and Microsoft Purview, tools for deploying and managing resources, and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Azure Advisor. Our bank follows these same three sections, so your results show exactly where to review.
How the Microsoft AZ-900 Practice Test Is Scored
The real Microsoft AZ-900 exam is scored on a 1–1,000 scale, and you need 700 or greater to pass. Because the score is scaled and some questions may be weighted differently, 700 does not necessarily equal 70% of questions correct.
Our practice test reports a simple percentage and compares it with a 70% readiness benchmark, labeled as a benchmark on the results screen. Scoring above it on several different random sets suggests you are ready to book. The skill-area breakdown matters more than the total: a low score in Azure architecture and services is the most costly, because it is the largest area on the exam.
Review the AZ-900 practice test answers after every attempt, including questions you got right. If the “why” note describes a rule you did not know, you got lucky, and that topic needs another look.
Tips to Pass the AZ-900 in 2026
Most candidates who pass the AZ-900 in 2026 on their first attempt follow a simple routine: they learn from the free Microsoft Learn path, they practise little and often, and they review every explanation.
AZ-900 Practice Questions 2026
Make sure your AZ-900 practice questions for 2026 match the current skills outline. Microsoft updates the study guide periodically, and our bank follows the three skill areas in the July 20, 2026 version. Use study mode for your first two sets, then switch to timed mode so you get used to answering at a steady pace without feedback.
Free Azure AZ-900 Practice Test Retakes
Retakes of this free Azure AZ-900 practice test are unlimited. Each attempt draws a new random set, so retaking measures understanding rather than memory. Schedule two or three timed attempts a week in the study planner, and count down to your booked exam with the exam countdown.
Between attempts, put the service names you keep confusing into a deck and make flashcards online. A five-minute daily review fixes most terminology gaps within a week.
AZ-900 Mock Test Online
For a full AZ-900 mock test online, choose the full bank in timed mode and treat it like exam day: no notes, no pauses and no checking answers until the end. Then compare your result with Microsoft’s own free practice assessment to see whether both point the same way.
If you are studying more than one cloud, the AWS Cloud Practitioner practice exam covers the same foundational ideas on AWS. For hands-on support skills, try the CompTIA A+ practice test or the Google IT Support Certificate practice test.
AZ-900 Practice Test FAQ
What Is the AZ-900 Exam?
The AZ-900 exam is Microsoft's Azure Fundamentals exam. It tests foundational knowledge of cloud concepts, Azure architecture and services, and Azure management and governance. It has no prerequisites, needs a scaled score of 700 out of 1,000 to pass and leads to a certification that does not expire.
How Hard Is the AZ-900 Exam?
AZ-900 is an entry-level exam and is very passable with two to three weeks of focused study. The challenge is breadth: you must tell apart many similar services and governance tools. Candidates who score well above the benchmark on several practice tests rarely find the real exam difficult.
How Many Questions Are There in the AZ-900 Exam?
Microsoft does not publish a fixed AZ-900 question count, and it can vary between exam forms. You get 45 minutes of exam time within a 65-minute seat time. Our practice test uses 30 questions in 30 minutes per session, and you can also choose 10 questions or the full bank.
Is Microsoft's AZ-900 Practice Test Enough to Pass?
Microsoft's free practice assessment is a reliable guide to the question style, but its pool is small, so repeat attempts quickly become memory tests. Most candidates do better combining it with Microsoft Learn modules and an independent practice test like this one, which draws new random sets with explanations each time.
