How Our Free Google IT Support Practice Quiz Works
Our free Google IT Support practice quiz is a review test that draws questions at random from an original bank covering the program’s five technical courses. The Google IT Support Certificate has no single proctored exam, so this quiz is not a copy of an official test. It is a way to check your understanding before the graded assessments inside each Coursera course.
Choose a mode before you start. Timed mode gives you 40 minutes for 30 questions, untimed mode removes the clock and study mode shows the answer and explanation after each question. You can flag questions, move around with the navigator and answer with the number keys.
When you finish, you see your score, percentage, time used and a breakdown by course area. If you close the page midway, your progress is saved on your device so you can resume after a reload, and your last 10 results are kept so you can track your improvement.
Google IT Support Certificate Questions
Our Google IT Support Certificate questions are original and written from the published course topics. They range from binary conversion and the boot process to DNS, Linux permissions, backups and malware. Each one has four options and a single correct answer, and you can choose a 10-question drill, a 30-question set or the full bank.
Google IT Support Professional Certificate Exam Questions
The program’s own graded quizzes and labs are part of each Coursera course, and they are not public. These practice questions are not Google IT Support Professional Certificate exam questions taken from the courses. Instead, they test the same skills in a similar style, so you can find gaps before a graded quiz and review everything at the end of the program.
What the Google IT Support Syllabus Covers
The Google IT Support Professional Certificate syllabus has six courses, and our quiz covers the five technical ones. The sixth course, Accelerate Your Job Search with AI, is about résumés, applications and interviews, so it is not part of the quiz. Read the full program overview in our Google IT Support Certificate guide.
Google IT Support Professional Certificate Modules
Each course in the program is a module in our question bank, and your results are broken down the same way:
| Course | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Technical Support Fundamentals | Computer hardware, operating systems, the internet, software and troubleshooting basics |
| The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking | TCP/IP layers, addressing, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT and network troubleshooting |
| Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User | Windows and Linux command line, users and permissions, packages, filesystems and processes |
| System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services | Infrastructure services, directory services, cloud, backups and disaster recovery |
| IT Security: Defense against the Digital Dark Arts | Encryption, authentication, network security and security culture |
Google IT Support Certificate Topics
The Google IT Support Certificate topics in our bank are spread evenly across the five courses. Expect questions on hardware components, electrostatic discharge, customer service and documentation, the network models, MAC addresses, ARP, subnetting and ports, Linux and Windows permissions, file systems, package management and PowerShell, directory services and backups, and attacks, malware and encryption.
These are the same Google IT Support Certificate skills employers expect from an entry-level support technician, so the quiz also works as review after you finish the program.
Google IT Support Certificate Sample Questions
Here is a typical Google IT Support Certificate sample question. What is the decimal value of the binary number 10110110? The answer is 182: adding the place values of the 1 bits gives 128 + 32 + 16 + 4 + 2.
Other questions are scenario-based, such as choosing the right first troubleshooting step, the correct Linux permission or the service that assigns IP addresses automatically. Each sample in the bank includes question and answer explanations so you learn the reasoning, not just the result.
How Google IT Support Certificate Exam Questions Are Scored
The real program has no single Google IT Support Certificate exam and no overall pass mark. Each graded quiz and lab inside a Coursera course has its own passing threshold, shown on the assignment, and you complete the certificate by passing every graded item in all six courses.
Our practice quiz reports a simple percentage and compares it with a 70% readiness benchmark, labeled as a benchmark on the results screen. Clearing it on several random sets is a good sign that you understand the material. The course-area breakdown matters most: if you score well overall but miss most networking questions, revisit that course before moving on.
The answer review lists every question with your answer, the correct answer, an explanation and a “why” note on the rule behind it.
Tips to Pass: Google IT Support Certificate Study Guide
The most effective Google IT Support Certificate study guide is a weekly habit: study one course at a time, take a short quiz before each graded assessment and review every explanation. Plan your weeks with the study planner, and if you set a finish date, track it with the exam countdown.
Turn Google IT Support Certificate Notes Into Flashcards
Your Google IT Support Certificate notes are most useful when you turn them into flashcards. Write one term per card, such as a port number, a Linux command or a security concept, and use our tool to make flashcards online. For ready-made decks, the CompTIA A+ flashcards cover many of the same acronyms. A printed Google IT Support Certificate PDF of notes is fine for quick reading, but spaced flashcard review helps facts stick.
Retake the Google IT Support Professional Certificate Test
You can retake this Google IT Support Professional Certificate test as often as you like for free. Each attempt draws a new random set, so retaking it measures understanding rather than memory of the order.
When you finish the program, many learners move on to an industry certification. Try the CompTIA A+ practice test to see how the Google IT Support Certificate vs CompTIA A+ content compares, the CompTIA Network+ practice test if networking was your favorite course, or the AZ-900 practice test for cloud fundamentals.
